While I was pretty much disappointed in what New York had to offer as far as the Spring 2010 RTW shows, I did notice the designs from Gary Graham and how truly lovely and unique they are. I don't recall coming across any blogs that featured his designs, so I thought I would bring them to your attention.
The overall feel is very soft, worn, reused and re-purposed. However, not reused in the sense of the ugly bag lady look like we've seen quite a bit of. Here, the re-purposing is exact and comes across as creating a truly new look but yet it seems really familiar and comforting. A lot of the pieces have obvious vintage inspired cuts and details ranging from the period of WW1 to the 80's.
The colors used are very simple and soothing, very palate cleansing. However, all of the layers and different textures keep the pieces from being boring. Images via Style.com
