Eternal OptimistI'm kind of behind on this as I'm sure most of you have seen this floating around on the web somewhere. I got a J Crew catalog today and noticed that they're endorsing certain colors of Essie nail polish. I completely missed this the first go around this past February when they first endorsed the shade Mini Shorts.
What do you think about this? I think with Mini Shorts they didn't actually offer it for sale through their catalog, but with their new picks for fall, Eternal Optimist and One of a Kind, they are offering them for sale through their company.
I think it's certainly a really interesting marketing move, and it kind of goes with the whole spread the love thing going on between some companies at the moment. I for one have always been a big fan of Essie nail polishes and have had a lot better luck with their formulas than from some more popular brands such as China Glaze and OPI.
I might take a look at Eternal Optimist next time I'm at Ulta, it's a really pretty pale shade which I've been attracted to lately. I wonder what the opacity is like though? So many of the pale shades often have issues with opacity and you end up having to apply like 4 coats to even get close to bottle color.

Such darling hues, I would wear all of them in a heartbeat! This summer I finally bought my first bottle of Essie nail polish (a darling hot pink shade) and was thoroughly pleased with it.

WOW ! Bright and zingy. I like the first one - I think that might be slightly more wearable - in winter I find the stronger shades just chip off when I'm wearing shoes and boots all the time. great post - thanks !

ReplyDeleteoh thank god! i thought essie had discontinued mini shorts. absolutely one of my favorite summer shades. im surprised j crew is featuring that color...its kind of wild whereas their clothes are pretty conservative. love the blog. a retro girl after my own heart.
