I had a bit of luck yesterday at the Salvation Army. After having lunch with a lovely friend, I remembered that on Wednesdays, all of the clothing at the SA is 50% off. So I went over there hoping to find something to add to the ever growing collection of things that I have yet to list in my Etsy shop. I did find something for it, but I found a couple of keepsies as well. It's so hard being a vintage seller when you're a lover of vintage as well.
Sorry for the tacky 80s wallpaper I've yet to replace. My bathroom has a huge skylight and in this weather I need all the natural light I can get!

I came across the gorgeous 60's dress in perfect condition and while the coloring makes me look like I want to puke and is slightly snug for for me, I knew it would be perfect for my mom who is a smaller size and darker complected. Put this with a little cream cardigan and some nude sandals and it would be perfect. I was considering putting it in the shop but I think it needs some love and admiration from us for a little while.

The second thing I found was this really great corduroy jacket for Mr. B. He's been looking for one for a while and this fits him perfectly. Check out that chartreuse satin lining! Very J Crew, no? However it's from the 70s and Sears, they were clearly ahead of their time! Perfect for fall!

I also got this really cute nightie set that has darling Mandarin detailing at the neck and on the sleeves. This will be going into the shop. I considered keeping it for myself as it's such a unique print and in perfect condition and it fits, but someone else should have a chance to love it.

Lastly, I found this super cute aqua and gold 50s planter! It's going to replace a pink vintage planter that I gave my mom for her new pink and black room. There aren't any markings on it, but I know I've seen similar pieces before. Do any of you have any clue to the maker of this?
So all in all, Wednesday was a very nice day despite the dreary rain which has continued today :(
That yellow print dress is GORGEOUS!!! I just found your website and I LOVE IT!!! You have such great taste.

The dress is fantastic! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteLove the nightie, I think I would make something else out of it though.
Have a nice weekend! <3
I agree with Rachel - the yellow dress is too cute. I'm a big fan of yellow myself, but do think you need a bit of a tan (dependent sometimes on the shade) to carry it off. Your lucky Mum!
ReplyDeleteWoohoo--love that dress! Great find. :)
