Today Mr. B and I have been married for two years. It doesn't seem like it's been 2 years, more like 2 days. Now that I've found the person who makes me the happiest will time only continue to go by faster and faster? We decided on getting married in October because my parents, my grandparents and my great-grandparents were all married in October. It must be the month of love for my family so it only seemed fitting to continue the tradition.
We both decided against spending gobs of money on a wedding, which we both felt would have been for the rest of the family and not us. So we eloped to Boston and I got to experience my first REAL fall and it was wonderful. We saw Boston and Cambridge. We drove out to Salem and to Plymouth to see where my ancestors arrived in the tiny ship called the Mayflower so many years ago. I got to walk on cobblestone streets and crunch brightly colored leaves under my feet, smell the crisp air and try lobster bisque.

When we were married, I wore this standing underneath a willow tree looking out over the pond filled with swans in the Public Garden.
Everything about the trip was perfect and I would do it again in a heartbeat. Boston will forever be so special to me. Via.

Happy anniversary, heres to many more...Were fast approaching our 13th!

ReplyDeleteCongratulations! your outfit was beautiful, and perfect for an autumn wedding! x
ReplyDeleteMillie,
ReplyDeleteWhen I read this it was almost as if I was relaying a dream of mine. Do not ask me why but I have always had a fascination with Boston and have desired to take a trip there particularly because of the cobblestone streets and the beauty and history I have only read about. It seems like a place I would love to live in. Just to sit in a cafe and people watch or explore every corner of the city would be amazing. Your wedding seemed so perfect and beautiful, and I am with you on not having to spend a fortune on your wedding day to make it special. It should be more about the commitment and a day you both dreamed it to be. I loved your dress and the scenery seemed so romantic, straight out of a storybook. Willow trees are also one of my favs!
Happy Anniversary to both of you.
ReplyDeleteI've been happily living with my husband for almost 12 years and maried for 4 years and time does fly. It's a great joy to have share ones life we somebody we love and who loves us.
I would love to see Salem and Boston. I've read Hawthorne's The Scarlet Letter, it's one of my favourite books. The story is situated in this part of your country and love to learn from that part of American History.
That sounds incredibly romantic. You looked beautiful and your ring is stunning!

Happy anniversary - what a cute couple! Love the retro wedding outfits - such a great contrast to the usual white bridal dresses that all look the same. I live in the Boston area and I'm glad you got to enjoy a taste of our fall foliage.
ReplyDeleteHappy Second Anniversary Mrs. B ~ What a lovely wedding and I say bravo to not falling into the pitfalls of going into debt to get married. Your suit was classic gorgeous not to mention your 'sparkler' & your man. I truly believe when you are happy, life does travel at a faster speed. So happy you left a comment on my blog, so I could find yours.
ReplyDeleteHappy anniversary! The outfit is lovely and the picture too - both you and the background look great!
ReplyDeleteHappy, happy anniversary. Adore that fur collar.

ReplyDeleteYour wedding suit is gorgeous! Living in Boston, I can say it is indeed a romantic city. Happy Anniversary!
ReplyDeleteMs. B - Thanks for visiting and playing in the fragrance giveaway. To answer your question, we got married here in New Orleans at a church, just us and two others were there and we left the next day for our honeymoon in the cayman islands. It was incredibly simple and small.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful suit, you looked stunning.
ReplyDeleteSo romantic, I wish you guys a long and joy filled relationship.
♥
I absolutely love your wedding suit and your ring! My husband and me got married in October, too :) It's such a romantic month, isn't it?
