Sorry again for the lack of posts! I had an uber busy weekend!I helped my parents move into their new house over the weekend and Monday was dedicated to recovering from that. Boy did I find where all my stiff muscles were when I went to yoga yesterday!
So, I'm in the midst of choosing new appliances for my kitchen specifically at the moment, an electric freestanding range and an over the range microwave. If ANYONE can weigh in here, it would be greatly appreciated. I would prefer stainless appliances but if I hear too many negative comments about them, I might go with white. I also prefer a smooth top on the range. These are the appliances that I'm considering at the moment.
To give you an idea of what my kitchen looks like, the walls are on the pale side of a sunshine yellow and almost all of my accessories and implements are turquoise. The cabinets are ugly 80's oak right now but will eventually be white or a very light wood color.More than likely they will be bought from Lowe's so I guess only my US readers can help here unless Lowe's is in Canada as well.
Tell me what you have. Do you like it? Do you not like it? What do you wish you had purchased?
I currently have all white Kenmore products. I have no complaints about their functionality. I just prefer the look of stainless but am waiting for one of them to poop out before I replace the set. : )
ReplyDeleteI have a few stainless appliances and I love the look, just know that fingerprints easily show up and I'm constantly wiping them away...other than that I'm very happy with them.

ReplyDeleteI have white appliances and I like how they are easy to clean. I once had a GE refrigerator and it gave us a lot of problems but that is the only experience I can offer really. I have a gas stove and oven.
ReplyDeleteWhile I have scores of home decor daydreams, I'm afraid that I've not had the great pleasure of shopping for my own appliances yet (thus far having only ever rented), but if I was headed out to buy some this very moment (and had the budget to do so ;D), I would veer towards those with a vintage and/or immensely timeless feel. I like stainless steel a lot too, though - and also bronze hued appliances, which are harder to find but look just as lovely, in my opinion.

I have never bought any appliances before, so I don't have any tips to give. I do however LOVE ovens and fridges by Big Chill. They have adorable 50's style appliances. Good luck on your purchase and thanks for the lovely comment :)
