I know most of you are gearing up for fall, thinking about tweed, and sweaters, and cute little opaque tights. But a few of us, who live in the hotter areas of the country, we still have a good 2-3 months to wear our summer clothes. I thought I would do this post to represent the last official month of summer that we will be going into.

I love nautical items, the crispness of the red, white and blue theme, with the little additions of anchor and sailboat motifs. It's something that is truly classic and will never leave fashion.

Here are a few vintage items I've gathered from Etsy, I hope you find something you enjoy!

Current Love: Skirts from Orangy Porangy

As if the company name weren't enough to make you curious, you'll surely be when you see their designs. The company is run by the cutest couple, Natalie and Mike of Madison, WI. Natalie makes the most wonderful skirts with retro inspired and actual vintage fabrics, and even some one of a kind skirts made from left over fabric remnants. What is also great about the company, is that they offer skirts made out of both woven and knit fabrics. Oftentimes, you only see sellers work with one or the other. I hope you enjoy the designs I've chosen and that you find something you like when you visit their website here. I'm really in love with the black and yellow rooster skirt as well as the red and green rose skirt. So pretty!

Baby blue loveliness

I was informed of these via a Retro To Go post and aren't they just a pin up girl's dream? I love the d'Orsay style, the color, the quilted vamp, everything.......except, what they are made out of. I'm sure these aren't made of leather, based on the price tag. And if my memory serves me correctly, pleather = blister city for me. But if pleather isn't an issue for you than these are a really great buy and can be purchased here for 39 quid.

Too pretty to keep hidden

I know these are part of Victoria's Secret's "Soft Line", but whose with me in saying that these are way too cute to keep hidden behind closed doors? I love the little satin ribbon ties and can totally see both of these paired with some skinny or trouser dark denim jeans and layered over a lacy camisole or even a cap sleeve tee. They look like a seriously great transition piece from summer to fall, and at $58, I'm definitely considering the grey one! Anyone have a coupon they won't be using?

Modern Nature: Wood and Stainless Jewelry by Imooi

Wood is a very popular element and theme in both interior and apparel design right now. So I was very pleased when I stumbled across these jewelry pieces by Imooi which incorporate stainless steel and wood into very modern designs. Imooi was launched in 2000 by Anna Chan. The Core line has a very clean and crisp vintage 60's mod feel to them but is softened by the wooden element as well as some of the nature derived patterns that have been used. I also love the affordability of these pieces, as all of them I have shown are $80 or less. You can find their official website here and purchase their items here.

Chlorine is a color............

.......it's also a Los Angeles based company that carries absolutely lovely vintage handbags that have been restored and embellished. The genius behind all this is none other than fellow Texan and fellow fashion grad Carrie White. Being an avid vintage shopper, I've seen redone and revamped vintage pieces before, but she really has taken it to a whole other level. These are pieces that can truly be handed down through generations. I'll leave you to only a small sample of what is on her lovely website, which can be found here

Vintage Inspired Finds from Boden

Yesterday I got the new fall catalog from Boden which I guess I've always thought as not being very, oh how should I say it, not very up to date maybe? But then again, I mean what is really up to date, since so many of us wear vintage clothing? Ok, that's another blog post. Anyway, they have a lot of really cute pieces that I would put up against a lot of the designs coming out of J Crew right now. They definitely have roots in vintage design, but have had a new spin put on them as well. I've rounded up some of my favorite pieces and I hope you see something you love too! All images are courtesy of Boden and the website can be found here After you take a look at the website, tell me what some of your favorite pieces are.
