Do you wear vintage/vintage inspired clothes every day or just on special occasions?

I don't wear vintage items absolutely everyday but I do wear them on a pretty regular basis. I tend to find that the easiest vintage pieces to work into everyday outfits, for myself, are the embellished cardigans from the 1950's, handbags, skirts, and coats when the weather is chilly. I would say that the one type of vintage item that only gets worn on special occasions would be my vintage shoes as all of them are heels and I only wear heels at particular times.

When I wear vintage, I never wear actual vintage from head to toe. I always incorporate modern pieces with vintage pieces, even if it's a modern piece that looks vintage.

That was a great question, thanks so much!!!

Ask me anything

  1. I feel the same. Although I only have a few vintage pieces left. I feel very guilty keeping anything vintage for myself because I know that someone else out there would love it just as much as I do. I have mostly vintage cardigans and bathing suits (of all the random things to have) As well as a very small collection of vintage brooches and scarves, but I only wear those on special occasions. As well as any vintage dress I've owned, only on special occasions..because they're usually cocktail dresses. I can't seem to find a day dress in my size to save my life. hehehe thanks for sharing :)

  2. I wear true vintage for special occassions (because I only have a few true vintage pieces and they tend to be on the dressy side -- I wouldn't wear a silk smoking jacket to the office!). I wear the vintage-inspired pieces more frequently, especially my dresses. I can pair them with a pair of high heels and a cardigan and they are perfectly suitable office attire.

  3. I tend to wear vintage and vintage inspired clothes about 60% of the time. When I don't wear anything "vintagey" I tend to do my hair in something at least a little old-fashioned. I would love to wear all vintage but I just don't have enough money to replace my entire wardrobe. Maybe one day :)
